Copy Trading

Automatically mirror the trades of successful wallets in real-time. Add wallets to follow and copy their buys and sells automatically.

🤔

What is Copy Trading?

Copy trading is a trading strategy where you automatically replicate the trades of other successful traders. When a wallet you're following buys a token, your wallet automatically buys the same token. When they sell, you sell.

This strategy is particularly popular in crypto trading because:

  • Experienced traders often identify opportunities before the market
  • You can benefit from others' research and market knowledge
  • Automated execution ensures you don't miss trades
  • You can follow multiple successful wallets simultaneously

SMAUG's Copy Trading bot monitors your selected wallets 24/7 and executes trades within milliseconds of the original transaction, ensuring you get similar entry and exit points.

⚙️

How SMAUG Copy Trading Works

The copy trading system operates through several stages:

1

Monitor Target Wallets

Real-time monitoring of all wallets you're following

2

Detect Transactions

Instantly identifies when a target wallet makes a swap

3

Apply Filters

Checks transaction against your configured filters

4

Execute Copy Trade

Automatically replicates the trade with your settings

💡

Speed Matters

Copy trading success depends heavily on execution speed. SMAUG uses premium infrastructure and Jito bundles to ensure your copy trades execute as quickly as possible after the original.

Adding Wallets to Follow

The first step in copy trading is selecting which wallets to follow. You can add wallet addresses in the Copy Trading interface.

Finding Profitable Wallets to Copy

Finding consistently profitable wallets is key to successful copy trading. Here are some strategies:

🔍

On-Chain Analytics

Use tools like Birdeye, Dexscreener, or Solscan to identify wallets with consistent profits on new token trades.

📊

Top Trader Leaderboards

Check leaderboards on platforms like Pump.fun or trading analytics sites to find successful traders.

🐦

Social Media & Alpha Groups

Follow crypto Twitter and join Telegram/Discord groups to discover wallets of known successful traders.

📈

Track Smart Money

Identify wallets that were early buyers on multiple successful tokens using transaction history analysis.

⚠️

Verification Warning

Always verify wallet performance yourself. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results. Start by copying with small amounts until you're confident in a wallet's consistency.

⚠️

Risks & Considerations

While copy trading can be profitable, it comes with inherent risks that you should understand:

📉

Slippage Differences

You may get a worse entry price than the original trader, especially on low-liquidity tokens or fast-moving markets.

Timing Delays

Even millisecond delays can mean significantly different prices on volatile new token launches.

🎭

Wallet Manipulation

Some wallets may trade specifically to attract copy traders, then dump on them. Be cautious of suspicious patterns.

📊

Strategy Changes

A wallet that was profitable may change strategies, make mistakes, or stop trading altogether.

🚨

Never Risk More Than You Can Lose

Copy trading involves substantial risk. Start with small amounts, diversify across multiple wallets, and never invest money you can't afford to lose.

📋

💡

Tips & Best Practices

Diversify Your Wallets

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Follow 3-5 different wallets with different trading styles to spread risk.

Verify Before Trusting

Research wallet history thoroughly before adding them. Check their win rate, average profit, and how long they've been trading consistently.

Start Small

Begin with minimal amounts (0.01-0.05 SOL per trade) until you're confident in the wallets you're copying.

Monitor Regularly

Check your copy trading performance daily. Remove wallets that start performing poorly and replace them with new ones.

⚠️

Beware of Honeypots

Some wallets may buy tokens that can only be sold by certain addresses. Always have token filters enabled to catch common rug patterns.
